Hi, I’m Jaycelle

Jaycelle, the licensed pharmacist behind PinoyPharmD

I’m a licensed pharmacist in the United States and the person behind PinoyPharmD.

I completed my pharmacy education in the Philippines before continuing my journey to become a pharmacist in the United States. I understand how overwhelming healthcare and the pharmacy profession can feel when the information is unfamiliar or difficult to explain.

In my work, patients and team members often ask questions such as:

  • Why is my prescription so expensive?
  • Why didn’t my insurance cover my medication?
  • What does my deductible mean?
  • Why did my copay change?
  • What should I know about this medication?
  • How does Medicare prescription coverage work?

These are reasonable questions, but clear answers can be difficult to find.

I created PinoyPharmD to make medications, healthcare costs, insurance, and common health topics easier to understand. My goal is to give you practical information that helps you prepare for conversations with your pharmacist, doctor, insurance plan, or healthcare team.

Start here if you are asking:
