My Journey to Becoming a US Pharmacist: From Dreams to Reality

As a pharmacist, my daily mission is to help patients live healthier lives by providing them with the medications they need. My journey to becoming a US pharmacist was filled with challenges, hard work, and determination. Today, I want to share that story with you, in the hope that it may inspire others who are pursuing their dreams.

March 2003: Taking the First Steps – Graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacy – I am proud to have taken the first steps towards my dream of becoming a US Pharmacist by graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacy. This milestone marks the beginning of my journey to achieving my goal.

July 2005: A Bold Move – Immigrating to the US – My journey to becoming a US pharmacist began with a bold move – immigrating to the US. This was a difficult decision, but one that I knew would open up many opportunities for me

March 2009: Expanding My Knowledge – Graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science in Clinical Pharmacy – I am proud to have achieved my goal of graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science in Clinical Pharmacy. This degree has enabled me to pursue my dream of becoming a US Pharmacist.

October 2009: A Crucial Step – Passing the FPGEC Passing the FPGEC was a crucial step in my journey to becoming a US pharmacist. After months of studying and preparation, I was finally able to take the exam and pass it with flying colors.

December 2010: Overcoming Language Barriers – Passing the TOEFL iBT – I had to overcome language barriers in order to pursue my dream of becoming a US pharmacist. Passing the TOEFL iBT was a major milestone in my journey.

January 2011 – June 2013: Gaining Hands-On Experience – Working as a Pharmacist Intern – I gained invaluable hands-on experience. Over two years, I completed the 1,600 hours required by Minnesota and developed essential skills to excel as a pharmacist.

January-September 2013: Tackling Licensing Exams – Passing the NAPLEX and MPJE—I achieved the dream of becoming a licensed US pharmacist, marking the beginning of my fulfilling career journey.

December 2013-2016: Pursuing Higher Education – Enrolling in the WPPD Program at the University of Florida – With a thirst for further knowledge, I enrolled in the Working Professional Doctor of Pharmacy (WPPD) Program at the University of Florida in December 2013. Three years later, I graduated as a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), armed with advanced skills and expertise.

My Journey to becoming a US Pharmacist has been an incredible adventure, filled with challenges, learning experiences, and personal growth. I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had and the people who have supported me along the way.

As I continually enhancing my career, I am dedicated to staying current with pharmacy advancements and delivering optimal patient care, while also mentoring and inspiring future pharmacists passionate about this gratifying field.

In sharing my story, I hope that it encourages others to pursue their dreams with perseverance and determination. No matter the obstacles you face, always believe in yourself and remember that hard work, dedication, and a strong support system can help you achieve your goals.
